Pumping abrasive or viscous fluids requires the adapted materials. The choice of the right elastomer affects the life and performance of the pumps. At the PCM Laboratory, the customized testing allow to analyze the rheological, physical and chemical properties of your fluids in order to determine the best technical solution (system and installation).
A SOLUTION ADAPTED TO EACH FOOD AND INDUSTRIAL FLUID
Specialists in fluid management, PCM offers 3 types of testing adapted to your needs:
- chemical compatibility testing,
- viscosity testing,
- abrasiveness testing.
For the tests, we respect specific procedures such as TGA (Thermogravimetric Analysis), DMA (Dynamic Mechanical Analysis) or dynamic viscosity. These analyses result in a detailed report with realized. A detailed report is created after the analysis with all the results and tests carried out.
CHEMICAL COMPATIBILITY TESTING: WHICH ELASTOMER IS ADAPTED TO MY FOOD AND INDUSTRY PUMP?
The chemical compatibility testing allows you to choose the right elastomer for your fluid. This consists of the chemical compatibility analysis of your product with PCM elastomers.
This testing highlights measurements of swelling, solid density and chemical attack.

VISCOSITY TESTING: WHICH PUMPING SOLUTION IS THE BEST TO TRANSFER MY VISCOUS FLUID?
This analysis measures and determines dynamic viscosity as well as kinematic viscosity.
In the laboratory, the technicians study the viscosity of the food or industrial product in real conditions according to the rate of shearing and creep. This work allows to correctly size your pumping equipment as well as your piping. Defined by our technical center, the solution calculates the pressure losses of your installation.

ABRASIVITY TESTING: WHAT PUMPING SOLUTION SHOULD BE PROMOTED FOR AN ABRASIVE FLUID?
The test provides information on the abrasiveness of the food and industrial fluids. A specific machine is used to analyze the loss of mass through friction with the product. The best materials resistant to fluid abrasion are proposed according to the degree of wear.
