PCM USA was established in 2002 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.

We are looking for an Operations Manager in our Food & General Industry Sector.

Main activities

Operations Manager Job Responsibilities:

Direct and manage all plant operations including supply chain, production & maintenance. Oversee sales order processing, measuring output, and KPIs. Lead and direct warehouse operations, including process improvement, documentation, and layout. Maintain a safe and efficient facility. Effectively manage and develop talent. Oversee purchasing, vendor selection, best practices.

Production & General Facility
• Assist with the establishment and layout of a new facility
• Supervise and assist the production team in the assembly of equipment and fulfillment of orders, ensuring they will satisfy our customer’s expectations
• Ensure that the plant capacity is appropriate to meet the expected demand
• Coordinate the hiring & training of all workshop personnel
• Ensure that all workshop equipment and tools are maintained and in good condition.
• Monitor operation expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality
• Ensure that production indicators are in place to measure performance

Local Supply Chain - Team Management
• Manage and develop local Supply Chain Team, from receiving to shipping activities
• Propose & Implement an efficient Supply Chain Team organization to ensure on-time delivery to customers
• Source and manage local suppliers and vendors for the supply required goods
• Supervise freight policy, cost & performance
• Manage stock mix to ensure levels meet the demands of our customer’s needs
• Regularly report Supply Chain indicators that measure its performance

Costs Control - Profitability Improvement
• Manage the Plant as a profit center
• Control Costs of Good Sold using the local ERP and assist the Financial department in regular financial cost analysis
• Regularly measure productivity objectives set and defined in conjunction with Management
• Initiate actions plans & processes minimizing manufacturing costs through effective use of manpower, equipment, material and capital
• Manage procurement activity optimizing QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery)
• Develop a yearly QHSE suppliers audit plan
• Issue regular QCD indicators demonstrating overall plant efficiency
• Work with the engineering team to find ways to improve product design, reduce costs and increase local content
Involvement in QHSE System Management - Responsible for Daily operations
• Work with Production and QHSE Managers to ensure HSE procedures are fully adhered to on the shop floor and implement new ones whenever necessary
• Make sure no hazardous waste is present in the workshop and supervise common waste recycling
• Actively participate in the Quality Management System and manage several internal processes


Education and experience
Qualified candidates must possess the following:

• Minimum 5 years working in a supervisory role in a workshop or production facility, preferably with industrial rotating or fluid-handling equipment
• Technical degree or degree in an engineering discipline and/or production and supply chain management
• Experience as an operations leader, with specific experience in production, asset utilization, data analysis, and team development
• Very good IT skills (able to prepare and present spreadsheets and deliver presentations)
• Knowledge and use of ERP systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Well-developed interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and thrive in a fast paced work environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude; and ability to communicate in highly technical field
• A hands-on approach, able to lead by example
• Ability to influence at various levels across an organization
• Proficiency in planning, scheduling, customer relationship management
