PCM Monitoring Solutions allow operators to fully understand their wells and accurately monitor the operating conditions of their PCPs to help minimize downtime, increase equipment run life and optimize their production.

There are several factors take into account when monitoring a PCP system:

Monitoring downhole

The PCM PCP downhole gauge is the optimum monitoring solution for PCP applications, providing accurate pressure, temperature and tri axis vibration measurements at surface via a high speed digital communication system. Multiple gauges can be run on a single instrument cable and an optional, analogue telemetry system can provide back up pressure readings in critical applications. Reservoir monitoring and PCP protection are combined into one high value solution.

The use of Variable Speed Drives (VSD) or Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) for the control and monitoring in Artificial Lift Systems has been utilised over a long period of time. However, these systems are limited solely to the performance & tasks endured by the motor in order to monitor the production and protect the pumping system used.

In order to obtain information such as the production flow rate, pressures, fluid levels, pump suction & discharge pressures, pump off control…etc entails tremendous extra cost for the operator as the well will have to be equipped with downhole gauges, sensors & regular visits to the well in order to check the fluid levels…etc.

The advanced progress in this sector has enabled the possibility to go much further and beyond the means of a standard VSD as the PCP Production Manager is able to furnish the above information using advanced algorithms without the use of the downhole gauges, sensors or frequent acoustic gas gun checks!!!
